Rajabi contracts coronavirus, filming halted for ‘Martyr Shahriari’

Mehran Rajabi has been diagnosed with the new coronavirus, halting the production of the TV series ‘Martyr Shahriari’.

Iran’s renowned movie, television and theater actor Mehran Rajabi has been diagnosed with the new coronavirus, halting the production of the TV series ‘Martyr Shahriari’.

Rajabi has been admitted to a hospital in Iran’s city of Zanjan since he tested positive for the virus six days ago.

Rajabi headed to Zanjan to play his role in a new series project about Iranian scholar Martyr Shahriari.

The filming for the 30-episode TV series ‘Martyr Shahriari’ -- which narrates the story of Majid Shahriari, an Iranian nuclear scientist who was assassinated -- kicked off in Iran’s city of Zanjan several days ago.

Rajabi plays a main role in the series as he plays the role of the grandfather of the martyr.

He called on people to pray for him take the coronavirus seriosuly.

The COVID-19 “is not a severe cold, but a debilitating disease. We can’t breathe and the high fever does not allow us sleep well.”

Born in 1961, he has appeared in many TV series and films such as ‘Operation 125’, ‘The Occupiers’, ‘The Forgotten’, ‘Huge Problems’ and ‘Ten Figures’.
